On Sept. 5, 1972, a group of Palestinians attacked Israeli athletes in the Munich Olympic Village. They killed two of them and took 9 hostages who later died when the German police intervened. The Mossad, the Israeli secret service, gave Avner, a patriotic Israeli, the task of investigating and eliminating the eleven men responsible for the Munich Olympic Games massacre.
