In April 2003 Aron Ralston was on a solo climbing tour of Utah's Blue John canyon when a half-tonne boulder became dislodged and fell on his arm trapping him at the bottom of a narrow ravine. Under a scorching sun Ralston spent five days trying to work his arm free finally finding the only way was to hack off his arm with a pocket knife. This is his remarkable story.
