In the most unlikely of places, two unlikely characters stumble upon one another. The paths of Bob, an American actor and Charlotte, a young wife, happen to cross. Both are somewhat bemused by life and seem to gain a lot from discussing each other's perpetual feelings of emptiness and confusion. As Americans in Tokyo, Charlotte and Bob experience an indescribable emotion. Away from what they know, love and understand, they are united in their cultural alienation. Although they enjoy experiencing Tokyo together, their time together cannot last forever, or can it?
