Nacho (Jack Black) is working as a young cook at the Mexican monastery of Oaxaca where he was raised. He is in love in Sister Encarnation, a young beautiful Mexican nun.But, the monastery is threatened with financial ruin. So Nacho decides to join the local Lucha Libre tournament. It is the only way for him to earn enough money to save the monastery from the ruin and to keep seeing the beautiful Sister Encarnation.
