Jane Nichols, a serial bridesmaid, wrestles with the idea of having to stand by her sister's side as she gets married her boss who she is also secretly in love with. All the while young society columnist Kevin Doyle is surreptitiously researching a story on Jane 'the perpetual bridesmaid' which he hopes will advance his career.
