With a tagline of "love knows no borders" the scene is set for an intensely impassioned romance. Based on a novel by Alessandro Baricco, "Silk" portrays the torment of an unrequited, unobtainable love. Set in 19th Century France, the story of a married silkworm smuggler and his obsession with a married woman with whom he cannot communicate is told. Herve Joncour is consumed with a desire for a woman he cannot have. It is not long before his wife's faith in him begins to waver.
