The Comedian has been murdered. The death of one of the best-known costumed crimefighters triggers something in men and women who once pulled on their tights and kept the streets safe from bad guys - that is until they themselves were outlawed. In trying to find out what who's been bumping off former heroes, Rorschach, The Silk Spectre and Nite Owl II will uncover something much darker, which could bring about the end of the world as we know it.
