A young woman returns home to Pasadena, determined to unravel a family secret before she gets married. She learns 'The Graduate' might have been based on her own family, and that her grandmother was the inspiration for Mrs. Robinson. She worries that her mother and her grandmother may have had an affair with the same man, or even worse, that her father is in fact a complete stranger. She seeks out the mysterious man in San Fransisco to restore her faith in the institution of love, before taking her marriage vows.
