Reese Witherspoon is Isabella El-Ibrahimi, the American wife of Egyptian-born chemical engineer Anwar El-Ibrahimi (Omar Mettwali) who disappears on a flight from South Africa to Washington in this star-studded thriller directed by Oscar winning Gavin Hood (Tsotsi, 2005). Isabella desperately searches for her husband. Meanwhile a young CIA analyst (Jake Gyllenhaal) is forced to question his assignment as a witness to the unorthodox interrogation of this suspected terrorist in a non-US facility.
