The story looks at a future where artificial human organs are sold on credit and if you don't make the payments, repossessed. One of the men who does this very job, an organ repossession man, has the same problem as the people he visits. He has a heart transplant and struggles to make the repayments, and so in order to keep his new heart he goes on the run and his former partner is sent out to get the heart back.
