After being abandoned at birth Joy never felt accepted or complete. She grew up in poverty and had to rely on busking and pickpocketing to get by. Hardened by her experienced she decides one day to find her biological mother under the impression that she must have come from a loving home due to the fact her mother named her Joy. Upon finding her mothers address she struggles to find the courage to confront her, fearing that her fragile ideas of her origins may be shattered in the face of reality.
